First Open Days for CCIS Malaysia

The first Open Days at Concord College International School (CCIS) Malaysia were held over a weekend at the end of March. CCIS will be opening its doors to the first intake of students in September 2024.

The Senior Leadership Team (SLT) welcomed over 300 visitors over the two day event which included tours of the campus, talks and presentations, demonstration mathematics lessons for secondary students and one to one discussions with the SLT.

The impressive Main Hall, designed to echo that of Concord College UK, was an inspiring place to start the CCIS campus tour, which included the primary and secondary classrooms, a science laboratory,  the primary library and secondary library and study centre, the sports hall and swimming pool, the dining area and the boarding residence including the student social area and a bedroom.

Parents and prospective students had the opportunity to meet and talk with the SLT: Head of Secondary, Dr Phil Outram; Head of Primary, Mrs Rosanna Kirkbride; Deputy Head, Mr Brian Lees; and Head of Boarding, Mrs Nikki Outram.

Said Neil Hawkins Global Principal of Concord International and Founding Executive Principal of CCIS: ‘We were all so delighted at the response to our first open weekend  There was so much genuine interest from parents and children in the school, its philosophy and the activities we had on offer.  It was also wonderful that some of the new teaching staff were able to join us.  There was a real sense of our new school bursting into life.  There is much to look forward to.’
