SCBS Base School for SAFA’s Creative Education Project

The exciting Middle School enrichment Programme Showcase Week took place recently. Students and staff at SCBS together witnessed the opening ceremony for SCBS becoming the base school of Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts (SAFA), alongside an exhibition of student work and awards ceremonies during assemblies. These together provided excellent evidence of the amazing achievements of the Middle School students.

SCBS and SAFA have long enjoyed cooperation for Art enrichment courses. As the cooperation goes further, SCBS also became the base school of SAFA.

Ms. Ru Bai, Chief of AECS and Mrs. Fiona Pocock, Executive Principal of SCBS gave speeches at the ceremony highlighting that SCBS is the first base school that SAFA ever assigned. The cooperation brings a variety of art enrichment courses for SCBS students.

The Middle School enrichment programme has 25 courses from four categories, including Second Foreign Language, STEAM, Self-confidence Building and Competition. Students can choose based on their interest in language, programming, design & artistic appreciation, physical training or teamworking.

Creativity lies at the heart of a Concord education and the partnership with SAFA at SCBS recognises the importance of enrichment to the development of its students.
